Nuestro país se caracteriza por innumerables fiestas populares tradicionales. Una de ellas es la Fiesta del Ganado y Pastores / Tayta Shanty / Tayta Wamani o más conocida como "Santiago". Este acontecimiento se celebra el 25 de julio de cada año, en la sierra central: Huancayo y principalmente Huancavelica. Conservando su autenticidad cuanto más lejos se encuentre de las vías de comunicación.
